Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal information. Forehead! does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal details to use the app.

Specifically, we do not collect:

• Your name, email address, or contact information
• Your location or GPS data
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs (unless Ads are enabled — see Section 5)
• Usage analytics or crash reports sent to our servers
• Camera, microphone, or photo library data

2. Motion Sensor Usage

Forehead! uses your device's accelerometer (motion sensor) to detect when you tilt the phone to answer or skip a card. This is the core mechanic of the game.

• Motion data is processed entirely on-device in real time
• No accelerometer readings are stored, logged, or transmitted
• Sensor access stops immediately when you leave the game screen

On iOS, this falls under motion and fitness data usage. We use it solely to detect phone tilt for gameplay — nothing else.

3. Local Storage (AsyncStorage)

Forehead! saves certain preferences and game data locally on your device using AsyncStorage. This data never leaves your device.

What is stored locally:

• Your chosen interface language and deck language
• App settings (sound, vibration, tilt sensitivity, card buffer time)
• Custom words you add to your word lists
• Whether you have completed the onboarding flow

You can clear all locally stored data at any time by uninstalling the app.

4. In-App Purchases

Forehead! offers optional in-app purchases (additional word decks, Remove Ads) through Apple's App Store. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple.

• We never see, receive, or store your payment information
• Purchase records are managed by your Apple ID through Apple's systems
• Apple's privacy policy applies to all transactions: apple.com/legal/privacy

Which decks you have purchased are stored locally on your device via Apple's StoreKit receipt validation. This data does not leave your device.

5. Advertising

The free version of Forehead! may display advertisements served by Google AdMob. If ads are active:

• Google AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve relevant ads
• This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy
• You can opt out of personalised ads through your device's privacy settings (Settings → Privacy → Tracking on iOS)

Purchasing "Remove Ads" disables all advertising and the associated data collection by AdMob.

If no ads are currently shown in your version of the app, this section does not apply.

6. Children's Privacy

Forehead! is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction).

Since we collect no personal information from any user, children's data is equally protected. The app contains no social features, chat, or user-generated content sharing.

7. Third-Party Services

Other than Apple's App Store (for purchases) and optionally Google AdMob (for ads), Forehead! does not integrate with or send data to any third-party services, analytics platforms, or tracking tools.

8. Data Security

Because we do not collect or transmit your data, there is no server-side data to secure. All data stored locally on your device is protected by your device's own security (iOS sandboxing, device encryption).

9. Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, the new version will be posted at tilt-labs.net/privacy-policy.html with an updated effective date. Significant changes will be noted in the app update release notes on the App Store.
